HSE is made up of three Latin letters that stand for health, safety and environment.
Based on the nationally approved regulations and instructions and the need to implement them in order to comply with the requirements in the three zone of health, safety and environment, the HSE department of Iran Hormone Pharmaceutical Company was established in 2014.
This unit is responsible for overseeing the three zone of safety, health and environment, and the authorities oversee the company's performance in complying with HSE requirements, the Department of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, the Deputy Minister of Health, Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Environment Organization.
Safety:
In order to comply with safety principles and requirements by referring to national regulations, all topics related to personal and public safety in each job, including: fire safety, electrical safety, building safety, chemical safety in laboratories are controlled and examined based on the executive methods and written instructions according to the forms and checklists prepared in the organization.
The organization oversees the company’s performance in order to comply with safety principles and requirements, the Department of cooperatives, labor and social welfare.
Due to the existence of harmful factors in the workplace, which is different in each industry according to its type and nature of work.
Based on the severity, the degree of exposure and contact of employees with each of the harmful factors of the workplace, appropriate personal protective equipment is provided to individuals.
Therefore, in order to prevent any disease caused by harmful factors in the work place, individuals are required to properly use the personal protective equipment provided to them. It is worth mentioning that measurement of harmful factors in the work place, as one of the legal requirements, is done periodically annually before the implementation of the process of periodic tests and examinations by competent institutions and approved by the ministry of health.
Accidents in case of injury and work accident in the company while completing the internal form of registration of accidents and also the form related to the social security organization, the injured person will be investigated by the colleagues of the health center according to the type of injured and if necessary, immediately is sent to the nearest medical center with a colleague of the health center.
Firefighting: In the year of 2014, Iran Hormone Pharmaceutical Company, in order to prevent fires, invited colleagues that working in different parts of the company in order to form a group called the Emergency Response Group.
Environment:
In order to comply with environmental principles and requirements, according to the regulations and instructions approved by the Environment Organization, the company’s wastewater treatment system was inaugurated in March 2017, with presence of the Deputy Director General of the Environment Organization to comply with environmental principles and requirement. The final effluent from the production process enter the environment after neutralization. At presence, the analysis and measurement of the final output of the treatment plant system is fully in accordance with the standards approved by the Environment Organization and is used to irrigate the company’s green space by using the drip irrigation system.
Also, in order to maintain clean air and prevent the spread of dust and pollution caused by the process of production absorbent filters on the roof (technical port) is installed in the exhaust ducts, which according to the schedule, periodically they are replaced regularly at six-month intervals.
Fate of generated waste: In order to fulfill the fiftieth principle of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in order to protect the country's environment from the harmful effects of waste and their optimal management, the company's production and laboratory waste (normal, special hazardous) while concluding contracts with competent and approved companies The environmental organization is outsourced for destruction and decontamination.
Health:
The authority to monitor the proper implementation of nationally approved health laws and requirements in the field of health is the Deputy Minister of Health of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
The measures that are being implemented in the field of health of Iran Hormone Pharmaceutical Company are:
- Post-employment examinations and tests, Annual periodic examinations and tests of employees based on the type of job and the amount of exposure, Also targeted health inspections based on executive methods and current and written instructions in the organization.
- Post-employment tests and examinations: Employees must be evaluated for physical, ergonomic, visual, auditory and respiratory fitness before starting work in the company, which is done by specialized occupational medicine centers and approved by the Deputy Minister of Health.The results of this assessment are recorded in the forms compiled by the Ministry of Health, under the title of five-page form, which is kept in the company's health center as a personal medical file after the approval of the occupational medicine specialist.
- Objectives of post-employment medical examination:
1- Determining the physical and mental ability of the person for the desired job
2-Keeping other people healthy
3-Maintain the industry and fund
4-Investigation to determine the disorders and previous complications of individuals and registration in the medical record
5- Detecting contagious diseases and preventing their spread, especially in people who being in contact with food
6-Creating a medical file and using the information contained in it in subsequent visits by a physician
7-Get acquainted with the spirits of individuals and records the health information of each person in the file
8-Informing the employer about the health and physical condition of individuals and the decision to hire or not to hire
2. Annual periodic tests and examinations: Periodic tests and examinations of staff are performed every year by one of the specialized centers of occupational medicine at the company and the staff is evaluated in terms of paraclinical tests as well as laboratory factors under the supervision of an occupational medicine specialist and if there is or diagnoses a problem, The disease is referred to specialized medical centers in order to follow the treatment process and achieve complete recovery.
Objectives of annual periodic medical examinations:
1-Early and early identification of employees suspected of occupational diseases in the early and treatable stages
2- Assessment and evaluation of employees who are adversely affected by the work place
3-Detection of employees suspected of occupational diseases based on the results of measuring the harmful factors of the work environment in each job, type of exposure, amount of exposure, route of exposure or absorption and duration of daily exposure
Occupational medicine specialist: In order to maintain the mental and physical health of people in the workplace and provide the necessary advice to people on the impact of the workplace on public health and the ability to perform their duties, as well as advice on environmental factors and occupational exposure to colleagues. The occupational medicine specialist will act according to the attendance plan at the company's health center and regarding the medical issues and problems of the colleagues.Targeted health and safety inspections in the field of occupational health based on executive methods and guidelines written and current in the organization, as well as topics related to personal and public health by an occupational health expert, based on guidelines, checklists and forms The prepared is controlled and examined.
